Interesting Information, Incredibly Short

I felt the book was REALLY short. I couldn't believe I was done when it was done. It's some pages of her opinion on foods...and then a lot of pages of recipes. I don't like the Kindle format for recipes. It's not easy to browse or get a feel for what the person may be good at before deciding on one. Books are better for that, in my opinion.
In short, I was disappointed by the price I paid for such a short book by a non-expert.
I thought she would spend more time writing, more time crediting her thoughts to the experts she gleaned them from, but instead it reads more like a manifesto or something - using bold and all caps to make points, as though the reader is too stupid to "get it"... I don't know. I was unimpressed.
For the high points, the book did bring some questions into my mind, and started me trying to eat liver, although unsuccessfully - there is no strategy for doing so. She makes it seem as though anyone can get the stuff down, but it's not easy! And I started to question the early-ness of solid foods for babies, and of course feel the requisite guilt for probably causing my son's eczema and potentially a leaky gut with my second. So, it's that kind of book. Good for making you think, but far under-credited to do further research, and too short to really be a book. Felt more like a short story.

Good info to have in your mommy toolbelt

I read this book twice. It is written to be easily understood and super informative. It's the kind of book that makes you think and gives you the desire to make some changes in your eating/health habits for the benefit of yourself, your child and your family. It's hard when you want to make changes but don't know where to start, so Heather included some simple (not rocket science) recipes to get you started. I didn't know any of this before my first child was born but made some changes to our diet after reading Nourished Baby, and now I feel armed with knowledge and ready to get the gut health of any of my future children started off right!

Nourished Baby is most excellent. It is in-depth, informative, practical, and inspiring. I'm expecting my third baby and I love re-reading this book. It helps me remember why I am making the choices for me and my growing family. I love all of Heather's expertise, experience, and first hand trial and error knowledge.
